Waylaid by dirty, rotten, sewer-dwelling scum! I wish it were not possible for me to say: "I should have known better", but I should.

By whatever fortuitous event, I was apparently brought to a Temple where the Clergy, it seems, must have brought me back to life. For that much, some might say, I should be grateful - yet, my mind returns relentlessly to the notion of revenge. Following this dark and irrational impulse, I purposefully and unlawfully sought a confrontation with some of the degenerate, bottom-feeding trash in the Lower Cordor district. Again; I should have known better. The ruffian, being vastly more experienced in violent confrontation, had me in such a state that it is only by pure luck, that I survived. As much as the humiliation pains me - Some wisdom has been imparted me by this experience, and some purpose.

I shall dwell no more upon these dramatically instructive consequences of my folly. Suffice it to state, that I am so much the wiser. The territories immediately surrounding the city of Cordor, seem to be in as state as pathetic as that of the city itself - not to speak of the people. Outside the gates of the city I have, as of yet, not found anything more than the omnipresent rabble of"intrepid" filth and folly which this place has attracted. Even the farmers (the occupation of which is usually seen to imprint some degree of humility and soundness, though rarely intelligence and knowledge) are in ^this^ place as deviant and unsound as everyone else. Having spent sufficient time in the (generously dubbed) "library" to have made myself acquainted with what literature it has to offer, I must now find further manners in which to make use of my time. As little as this place has to offer in the form of intellectual stimulants and stimulation, I shall in the future try to engage the locals in whatever passes for conversation and thus become better informed about the regions and inhabitants of this place.I shall also have to find a means of obtaining funds. This purpose, as well, will be served by a more "sociable" approach to my new surroundings.
