This crisis started the Year 79 when first matron Tam’ira Altruissa tried to subordinate the settlements of the races, one by one. After having defeated the duergars, making the gnolls her ally, and made Pit Town a vassal, her attention turned to Urblexis Grond and Blingstonhold. As the regent of Blingstonhold by diplomacy kept the village out of troubles, she used Satho and Xalanthia Zygorkh’ga instead.

The Dark Moon monk Satho by that time had entered Udos and killed drow. Xalanthia uncautious had uttered her honest opinions of the drow openly. Tam’ira’s intention to make these two representatives of Blingstonhold and then declaring war, was diplomatically dodged by Fraya. Tam’ira instead made an ultimatum: Either to exile the two, or face vassalage.

Fraya used her secret web of spies, and found out that Tam’ira was being plotted against, from the inside of the drow society. And probably soon to be removed. Her forces were not yet ready to strike against Blingstonhold, only under preparation to do so. Fraya then choose to drag things out, in the hope that before the first matron would strike, she was removed. Internally, she calmed down the village.

For three months, Fraya avoided contact, gave unclear answers to requests, and in general, anytime she met the first matron, showed an utmost interest in solving the crisis. But in reality did nothing afterwards. On the contrary, secretely and through diplomacy used her drow relations to keep the first matron confused. When Tam'ira was removed, most had forgot about the drow claims.

Appendice: Public Announcement to Blingstonhold

For reasons, I think that at least Satho Cradfoot, and Xalanthia should know, I have received an ultimatum from the first matron of Udos, before they launch a war against us. A war which the first matron has declared will only end when the Cradfoots are exiled from Blingstonhold, and our village made vassal of Udos Dro’xun.

The first matron has asked me to appeal to particular Satho and Xalanthia, the Scholar, to behave for fear that war may be imposed on us i Blingstonhold, loss of property in Pit Town and general suffering in general for our people. Should you respond properly the problem is solved, if not I’ve been asked to exile you and make Blingstonhold a vassal of Udos! I have no reason to doubt her words.

As the regent of Bingstonhold, I would rather not accept vassalage, neither would I exile kindreds. So should we come to such a situation, I shall take the logical step. As I made clear when I became regent, I am no warrior. I consider a policy of war as suicide for our village. We been to many wars. They got one thing in common: We lost them all! I don’t want this to happen once more.

It is out of my reach to solve this situation. I shall of course do what is expected. I can not but urge on anykin to contribute, so this situation doesn’t turn out for the worse. We might win a few encounters, but we’ll most probably loose the final battle. And definetely loose the fragile peace, I have tried to establish in my three years of regency.

Appendice: First Matron's Ultimatum (Diary Page)

First matron finally launched what was expected. The reason: Satho Cradfoot is said to have entered Udos, without a pass, and killed a guard there. He's said to disrespect all drow laws and refuse to follow them. Likewise, Xalanthia has openly spoken against the drow.

The first matron saw this as terrorism from Blingstonhold, and claimed that I exile both of them, and make Blingstonhold a vassal of Udos. Neither things I can comply with. But she gave me a few cycles to convince the two to 'behave', whatever that means.

Xalanthia later appeared, and I lead her to the first matron, whom she tried to convince, that she never acted against the drow. In vain. What concerns Satho, I haven't seen him for months, maybe years, so it might just be slander. Anyway, I need to see him.

From what the first matron says, Satho says he's still the king, and that there is no queen. Not sure what that means. Time is running out for me, unless manage to once again calm down the first matron. Exile and vassalage is out of the question.
