The Story
Nives is the daughter of the female shortsword weapon mistress and a male noble of house Horlbar, Menzoberranzan. Drow Society trace the bloodline through the mothers, and this is also the reason Nives left to Udos Dro'xun when she realized the folly of having a lesser unknown mother.
Arch Preistess and Ulath'taller Shai'llyn Te'fess d' Drak'aa were mostly gone from Udos Dro'xun, and none dared to challenge her. Already Nives was plotting the removal of the Ulath'taller, though; she wanted to become Ulath'taller herself, but was forced to wait until she had consolidated her power and gained the rank of high priestess and Yath'taller. Nives manipulated her former instructor Phyr'vyell at the cleric academy Arach-Tinilith, into becoming Ulath'taller in Shai's absence. Phyr'vyell became the shortest serving in Ulath'taller in Udos Dro'xun's history, as she was removed and slain by Talasprina d' Z'kath a few cycles later. Yath'taller Nives Zar'Rocc d' Melena was what they called her then, she shortly after got into conflict with house Drak'aa for taking the drow Cristyn Zyrstacia as a personal slave.
Vastra left as matron mother of Melena for personal reasons, which was the start of the fall of House Melena in the eyes of the other matron mothers. Nives Zar’Rocc d’ Malena was destroyed after she was attacked by house Drak’aa, but she was placed in that house as Nives Zar’Rocc d’ Drak’aa, a new "daughter" of Oblodra. Nives Zar’Rocc d’ Drak’aa was the longest serving Ulath’taller in a while, holding the position for several years. She gained the position buring The Z'kath Rebellion, were Z'kath was forced to leave Udos Dro'xun.
Nives was an instructor at Arach-Tinilith and in charge of all students and priestesses, she invented new dark ceremonies to honor Lloth. She held four popular lectures in leadership and warfare each year. That Scheme was a success, and she had secretly gained ideas and knowledge to deal with Oblodra Drak’aa, the old and supreme first matron mother, which had held the position for decades.
Belduil Le’fein was a master wizard of Z’kath, he managed to spread rumors of heresy in house Drak’aa during the Z'kath Rebellion. Eowomyldor and Walethiar Nerith were skilled assassins and merchants, and were taken to the temple of Lloth after the war. It was discovered that they followed the goddess Shar, the mistress of the night; which was the start of a Large-scale witch-hunt. Eowomyldor was captured and tortured; in his insanity he would mention purple wine. This wine became a forbidden liquid, after a large stock of wine was found at a Sharan shrine. Azaria and Thar’n Drak’aa were taken in for questioning as a result, because of their involvement with the Neriths and the making of the wine. Both was found faithful to the spider queen, and was set free. Oblodra Drak’aa ended the witch-hunt of the Neriths by converting Walethiar to Lloth, but Nives lost Faith in her matron mother for the kindness she had shown a heretic, and started to be even more uncontrollable.
Nives became incredibly sadistic, she always punished infractions quickly. She was angry and brutal and demoted priestess and disciplined them harshly. Becoming one of the most hated and feared Drows in the Underdark, she would seek to bring disfavor upon Oblodra’s offspring or turn them against her. Temujin was a Daurgar weapon-master, he was banned from the Underdark by Nives after he attempted to kill her. Temujin’s attack is considered the last of many assassination attempts to take her life in a very long line. Nives collected and made several powerful magic items, including an amulet that covers her in bark a full day and night, thereby protection her from damage and harm.
Drescable was a daughter of Matron Oblodra, she heard Nives mocking house Drak’aa publicly. Oblodra made the foolish mistake to only punish Nives by having her lick her boots clean, as Nives barely managed to convince her that she meant one person rather than the whole house. Nives toke the humiliation and threats of losing all her power silently and obedient, as she would gain nothing from fighting at that moment. The chance would come for that soon after, as Oblodra and Nives got into an argument in front of the second matron Quenethel Al’truissa, who was a strong supporter of Oblodra. A vicious battle followed between Oblodra and Nives, many witnesses followed the battle between the arch priestess and the first matron. Nives slaughtered Oblodra with little difficulty, as she had studied her for long. By this display of favor from the spider queen, Nives managed to convince Al’truissa that she should be the new first matron mother of Drak’aa. The third matron mother Amal’lira was already a supporter of Nives, as she was given gifts that altered her conduct. Oblodra was publicly humiliated and beaten in the middle of Jhareds, and then put into prison in house Al’truissa for several years.
Thar’n Drak’aa was the elderboy of Oblodra, he was ordered by Nives to sleep with her in Oblodra’s Throne shortly after Oblodra was removed, which made him consort in House Drak’aa.
Nives is very tiny even for a Drow. She weighed barely fifty pounds but was quite powerful. She is short and bad-tempered but patient and calculating, and she eventually got a reputation for taking any man in the house that she wanted to pleasure her, even commoners. Nives had countless natural children, others were discovered for their talent in various fields, Nives manipulated them though various plots and had them adopted. Some of the most notable was Skorda, Alykiira, Zestra, Zakn’rae, Rilki’ira, Isonya, Xun’mice, Freya, Xa’darra and Legodia Zar’Rocc. Nives renamed House Drak’aa to house Zar’Rocc and was now the first matron mother of Zar’Rocc, which easily held onto the first seat of the council as Nives deposed Oblodra, thus taking over as First House of Udos Dro'xun. House Zar’Rocc expanded exponential over the years, holding most of the leading positions in Udos Dro’xun while suppressing the other houses. The Daurgar clan was threaten with war, but they managed to pay them self out of the conflict with gifts and promises. Grond’s treasure coffins were discreetly drained more than once though intelligent stockpile and economic movements. Various foul Experiments and research was created, but only a few turned out fruitful. One of them was the poisoning fungus plague that was planted in fresh corpses, blooming from Cordorian councilor’s carcasses. The 15 men large first legion of Cordor including 3 councilors was utterly destroyed in this raid, while the Underdark forces didn’t loss a single soul. Nives Managed the Underdark with an iron fist, and few dared to go against her will. The foundation for this strong house should come to a test when the Cataclysm crashed down on the Underdark. Nives went missing in the chaos and was believed death. Rilki’ira temporary controlled the house as first daughter; Skorda had taken control over the Old Grondhouse and Kharnal become regent together with Vippin.
Nives returned after a while, only to find that her house had done all the work for her. She placed her own authority over that of Kharnal and Vippin, but it was agreed that she would only step in if she disagreed with the decisions made. Nives would focus her attention on rebuilding Udos Dro’xun, while creating a base in the new pit town to operate from. She was by then one of the most rich and influential beings in the Underdark and knows how to craft powerful magic items, including duplicating most existing items.
In AR 62 Nives felled out of favor in the eyes of the Spider Queen because of a foolish mistake in the method of holding a dark ceremony in her name. That and failed rebuild of Udos Dro’xun, she herself was stripped of most of her divine power as punishment.
Nives managed to keep in power due to her huge network and influence, focusing on taking over as much of pit town as possible. When Tos’on became a regent, she managed to keep him somewhat in check, and her minions now owned up to half of pit town. Zabara Crimsonsoul sadly toke power after Vippin’s unexpected exit, but had little support in the Underdark. House Zar’Rocc ended in war with Zabara, and countless assassination attempts was put in motion. Finally Zabara was captured, and forced to sign a paper after a swift removal of her ear. A paper that was later used to make it look like Zabara had pulled out of the second election round in pit town. Athiyk Sshurlynder of Zar’rocc was placed as a new regent, a loyal servant of Nives. Shortly after however Nives went missing, and her daughter Xunmice Zar’Rocc toke over as matron mother.
After a year long absent she returned to to pay 500.000 gold in tribute to the construction of Andunor and send her son Yasdia to do the meetings in her place. She became the first elected leader to run Devil's table in Andunor
