On Love

[Forward: This book is dedicated to Daijin Helefnerian. She was a woman that never understood love and aimed to change the world without ever intending to live in it.]

Many people will tell you that love is a great mystery or that it comes once in a lifetime but this is simply not true. Love is an emotion and like all emotions it is better understood through use. Love cannot be forced but it can be grown and nurtured. In the same breath, it can also come in an instant and without warning.

Neither instance of love is greater or somehow more valid than the other. Like all emotions, love comes in degrees and varies greatly from person to person so one love cannot be more right than another.

Love does not dwindle the more that you use it or if you love many rather than just one. Much like all other emotions, the more you use it the easier it becomes to understand and the more potent the result. That is not to say that you should go out in search of loves in order to achieve this effect. Rather you should seek out the things that bring you joy and keep an open heart.

Often times, people will remain guarded and untrusting of others because they believe that love only injures the heart when it is over but I do not believe that love can ever truly pass. One must revel in the love that they have had and loves that they will have instead of delving into spite, hate and fear because these take focus away from love.

Love has the power to uplift us and make us strong in ways that we would have never through possible. It should not be hidden or hoarded. It should be shared and cherished. Remember that love is in all of us. Even the darkest heart is capable of love.
