Attack on Guldorand

Displayed are the records of Spiritwalker Corbin during raids on the town of Guldorand.

Interview: Eirik Skuring (Talassians Meeting)

This interview was held in Soulhaven. Eirik is First Axe of Guldorand; Commander of the Housecarls. He states that the Stormlord showed up in Guldorand with a Talassian mage and the frozen body of Gustav as a token of peace. They wished peace because, according to them, the bloodshed between the two groups was needless and too many were dying. A few moments later the Vampire Mordel appeared saying that the corpse was that of her lover. She wanted the body and would exchange her aid against the Talassians for it. She was promptly sent away by Alice, healer of Sune. They spoke with the Stormlord about possible supply trade between them before Eirik detected sarcasm in his tone as well as rudeness. Eirik suggests the Stormlord was smiling under his helmet. This prompted Eirik to kill him. Eirik was not ordered to do this. He planned to give the head to the mage but his company attacked the mage; the mage ultimately fled. Those present were; Scarlett, Alice, Maric, Aligonda, Samantha, Bria, and Igogh. This all occurred at the front gates of Guldorand, at night. The Vampire vowed to attack the following night due to being brushed off. The Tallassians said that if peace could not be negotiated then they would attack the following night as well.

Interview: Eirik Skuring (Attack on Guldorand)

This interview was conducted in Soulhaven. After the Talassians and Vampires had sworn to attack Guldorand in the coming night, the settlement took to preparing. They divided into two forces; one at either gate. Eirik was overseeing the South gate. They laid traps before the gate. They heard Talassians shouting war cries in the distance and soon fog overtook the town. Lightening and fireballs started to hit the town from what Eirik suspects was Talassian magic. He ordered his men to stay behind the gate until the bombardment was over. Then a wave of Talassians flooded the southern pass, triggering the traps. When all the traps were sprung, his men attacked. They waited to bottle neck the next wave but it didn't come. After two more bombardments, he commanded Housecarl Igogh to check the bridge. She returned with Talassians at her back that were quickly slain. Rather than wait for Guldorand to be turned to a pile of ash by the bombardments, he rallied his troops to attack. Talassians were everywhere, at first. First they took those on the bridge. Then they charged the general that was at a small outpost which had several mages doing a ritual. Scarlett and Demetrius went out to scout for more possible outpost while Eirik ordered his band back to town. This was the end of the attack.

Interview: Scarlett Highfen (Talassians Meeting)

This interview was conducted in Soulhaven. Scarlett says she came across a group of, mostly, Guldorandian citizens at the front gate of Guldorand. They were speaking with a Talassian Stormlord. Mayor Alice and Commander Eirik were leading the discussion. The Talassians brought the frozen body of Gustav as a peace offering; they had found it in a gorge and returned it for a proper burial. Scarlett was watching the rear as a precaution when a large bat flew over. She says there was something off about the bat which prompted her to go investigate. The bat watched her while she approached. She tried to speak with it, in case it was a druid, but it was focused on the group. Alice ordered her to kill the bat. She attacked causing the bat to squeak, flew and turned into a female vampire. The Vampire told them that she had an offer as well; she would aid Guldorand against the Talassians if they gave her Gustav's body. She wanted to turn him into a vampire, something that he refused in life. She said, if they refused, she would attack the following night. Scarlett says that Alice was getting frustrated with all the people talking at once. Alice refused the Vampire. She repeated her threat before disappearing. Scarlett was then ordered to scout the other gate for vampires. When she returned, she was told that both groups would be attacking the following night.

Interview: Scarlett Highfen (Attack on Guldorand)

Scarlett aided by scouting the areas around the town as well as getting citizens into the Logjam and guiding travelers to where ever Alice and Eirik commanded. Preparations where made to have forces at both gates. Scarlett mainly helped at the Northern Gate against the undead; scouting occasionally and holding the line when it was needed. When it was clear that her help wasn't necessary, she moved to the other gate. She and Demetrius were sent out to scout. They came across a small Talassian patrol. The leader of the patrol said We will be fine as long as we don't lose the outpost. Before Scarlett could head back to warn Eirik's group, the group came charging, having taken the offensive. The small patrol was wiped out with no causalities on Guldorand's side. Scarlett's group patrolled the south of town where they came across a small outpost which they made short work of. At this outpost there was a magical circle with a star in the middle of it. She stepped in it but it did nothing. After the outpost was destroyed, the Talassians fell back. She and Demetrius scouted to the caves below Stonehold at which point she was summoned away for a separate matter.

Hour 16, Day 24, Month 3, Year 141

Interview: Captain Alice Scarlett (Talassians Meeting)

This interview was held in Soulhaven. Alice states that she spotted a group of Talassians approaching the front gate with a frozen corpse. They said that they came to negotiate and as a privateer, she believes in 'parley'. Present were Scarlett, Eirik, Aligonda, and others. The representative of the Talassians was a mage of some sort. The jist of it was that they wanted to end the conflict between them. As an offering, they had a corpse of one of the forgotten townsfolk, allegedly, in exchange for being able to trade and buy supplies in town. Alice states that this had her rather pissed off and suspicious since the conflict was originally started by Tallassians. As a holy woman of the Goddess of love, violence was her last resort; she listened to them. They said that they wouldn't bully or harass people while they were in town trading but Alice said she was doubtful of this since they worship the God of raging storms. She found this entire negotiation as out of the blue. In the middle of all of this, a large bat came by so she ordered Scarlett to punch it. The bat then turned into a vampire woman and cast a darkness spell to protect herself from the sunlight. The Vampire wanted the corpse; it was Gustav. She said she could help fend off the Talassians in exchange for the corpse. Alice told the Vampire to pike off. Alice didn't trust the Talassians, telling them that they would need more than a corpse to show good faith. Both parties stormed off vowing to attack the following night. She cast flame strike on Gustav's body and buried his ashes.

Hour 9, Day 13, Month 4, Year 141

Attack on Guldorand (Sky Druids)

I was called to Guldorand by Jasper. He stated that there was to be an attack on the settlement at nightfall by the Vampires and Talassians. We came upon a group of Guldorandians at the front gate during which time a pale and dazed looking man lumbered through. I suggested to Jasper that we follow him as he appeared out of place. We tracked him to the back gate, heading toward the crypts. He was felled by a wyvern a few feet from the crypt entrance which is when a hin male came to join us. Jasper examined the corpse and found that it was a thrall, dead from lack of feeding. This is when four male sky druids approached commanding us to leave. The male hin became belligerent, threatening the druids if they do not leave the area and leave Guldorand alone. Jasper spent the rest of the incident trying to quell the hin. I spoke with the druids, telling them of the impeding attack, asking that they aid against the undead or move their people back so not to get hurt. Unfortunately, due to the male hin, the druids were more defensive than usual. The largest of the males said this matter would go before the sky druid council and that they would decide but that he would be honored to join in an attack against Guldorand. The druids left and we took the thrall back to Guldorand to burn it. The sky druids attacked the back gate during the raid.
