The Night and the Moon
[Forward: This book is dedicated to my love: Rosenkranz Ezekiel. He was my comfort and strength in a time of Chaos. He reminded me that the most important thing in life is to be yourself.]
At the beginning, there were two princesses; the Night and the Moon. They lived in a great castle in the kingdom in the sky. The Night was a haunting beauty without peer but she was cold and startling. The Moon was radiant and could draw the eye of anyone.
Even though the two stood as sisters, the Moon often hoarded all the love and attention of their people. This caused the Night to grow envious and hateful. She wanted to cast her sister out of the castle so that only she would rule and be loved.
She decided to usurp power during the next ball held in honor of the Moon to truly show the kingdom which of the two sisters was the mightiest.
All had arrived to the great castle to celebrate the Moon and her beauty. They bought gifts and spoke sweet words to her; none thought of or even noticed the Night. From her veil of obscurity, she struck! The Night called upon all her magic to aid her.
The Night’s hate was overwhelming but it lacked discipline and purpose so when the powerful spell was cast she unwittingly created the Sun. Both princesses were flung from the castle forced to return each day only when the Sun slept.
