The Fulcrum: Operating Procedures

Note: Not to be removed from the laboratory housing the Fulcrum itself! - Laeman, 10/10/84

The Fulcrum is the Arcane Tower Laboratory's omnipurpose creation platform, used in the creation of almost everything one could possibly imagine. However, it is but a tool, and like all tools must be used both correctly and appropriately to achieve desired results. About the device's structure are a series of sigils - these must be traced in the air, like somatic spell components, in order to begin work. These are the symbols;

TLUSHFOLI - The first Spellglyph to be incanted, this begins the activation process. You will see the stone 'horns' crack and split, turning into limbs. Allow ten seconds for the dust to settle (literally).

At this point, you should place the components of the object you wish to create in the centre, or the item you wish to modify.

KEPLA'NASALEI - The second Spellglyph to be incanted, this will commence a thorough, automated inspection of the proferred items by the limb-claws. Do not place your hand near the localised whirling storm of rock shards! Unless you want to lose a limb or five. The objects may be picked up by the stone-arms and tested for their weight and fragility, but will not be broken.

VEHAFORA - The third Spellglyph, this attunes the speaker's hands with the Fulcrum's control system, allowing the speaker to move their hands near the Fulcrum to have the stone limbs replicate the movements, with corrections for pressure, weight and fragility. Unless one actively thinks otherwise, an errant finger-twitch will not break a shard of glass. This is where you can commence your creations.

GRIB'HSSK - This Spellglyph is more for utility's sake, and will project a divination field a short distance above the platform, allowing the caster to enhance and magnify the materials upon the Fulcrum for incredibly close detail work.

IXENIR - Another utility glyph, this will create a localised source of heat that can be used to melt - and smelt - anything upon the Fulcrum.

As the reader has likely ascertained, these are all Draconic Spellglyphs - experimenting with new forms and shapes could create different commands, allowing for more specific gestures such as 'boiling', 'separating the oil of vitriol from four drops of liquid', or 'rip, tear, rend' as need be.
