Erik Silverarms became a squire paladin of Torm in the city of Athkatla with the sponsorship of his art teacher who wished his accident prone student far away from his masterpiece sculptures. Realizing that clumsy Erik's prolonged stay in Most Noble Order of Radiant Heart could damage fragile and priceless artifacts of the Order, the Prelate of Radiant Heart hastily sent the newly minted Paladin Knight to the faraway island of Arelith with a mission to add strength to Order Light Keep.

Despite his clumsiness, Erik's diligence and loyalty was embraced at Light Keep. His stern stance against evil brought him to clash persistently against numerous villains, most notably, Zeer of the Abyss, and Lothar the Steelsworn of Stonehold. Through the years, the war against evil waged against Banites of Stonehold bore fruit as Light Keep declared its victory.
