Turnip Tale - A Children's Story
There once was a hin clan, living on a farm. They had so much farmland, with plentiful crops. From potatoes to apples, to peaches and corn. They could feed a whole village, and feed them they did.
It was the day of the harvest, the day of the feast. All the crops were ready, except for the last. A mighty big turnip, as big as a pig. So enormous was it, it startled the hin.
Ole granpa was out there, checking the fields. He spotted The Turnip, and went to uproot. Yet The Turnip was stuck, it would not yield. Tug and tug and tug he did, it would not come free.
Granma came out soon after, to see what happened. She spotted him trying hard here, with the Turnip stuck. She got up behind granpa, and wrapped her arms tight. She gave him a mighty tug, The Turnip stayed stuck.
With both it was not enough, tugging as they could. No ordinary turnip, this one remained firm. Try with all of their might, they still had no luck. Huffing and puffing they tried, but still it stayed.
Their granson was playing ball, taking break from chores. He spotted them trying hard here, with the Turnip stuck. He got up behind granma, and wrapped his arms tight. He gave them a mighty tug, The Turnip stayed firm.
Still all three weren't enough, tugging as they could. No ordinary turnip, this one remained firm. Try with all of their might, they still had no luck. Huffing and puffing they tried, but still it stayed.
Luckily their grandaughter, was out in the field. Looking for butterflies, and finding flowers. She spotted them trying hard here, with the Turnip stuck. She gave them a mighty tug, yet The Turnip stayed firm.
Still all four weren't enough, tugging as they could. No ordinary turnip, this one remained firm. Try with all of their might, they still had no luck. Huffing and puffing they tried, but still it stayed.
The dog raced out to play, looking for some fun, Spotting them it ran over, running in circles. Before grabbing hold of her leg, and pulling so hard. It gave them a mighty tug, The Turnip stayed firm.
Still all five weren't enough, tugging as they could. No ordinary turnip, this one remained firm. Try with all of their might, they still had no luck. Huffing and puffing they tried, but still it stayed.
Stranger yet was the cat, chasing mice outside. Spying it's people fighting, it came over too. Daring and helpful it came, and bit the dog's tail. It gave them a mighty tug, The Turnip stayed firm.
Still all six weren't enough, tugging as they could. No ordinary turnip, this one remained firm. Try with all of their might, they still had no luck. Huffing and puffing they tried, but still it stayed.
Lastly the mouse came too, wise to all of this, Convinced each and all to tug, and so it joined too. Desiring The Turnip, it bit the cat's tail, It gave them a mighty tug, The Turnip came free!
All the combined efforts, of the mouse and cat, The dog and grandaughter, the granson and granma. And of course ole granpa, succeeded at last. The Turnip was eaten, by all for a month.
So the lesson was learned, remember it now. Even the smallest people, can make a difference. No matter how strong or not, remember to try. And always bring a shovel, to unearth turnips.
