High Sonnlinor Hera Braidstone and her brother escaped captivity of the Beholders, but King Bloodletter was jailed in a different area of their compound. After much search, they fled to the surface, and were welcomed back into the Halls. There was much grumbling and scorn at them for having 'abandoned' Brogendenstein, but mostly from those who had power and were reluctant to relinquish it.

The High Sonnlinor retook her position, and began leading forays into the Deep, some gathering information, some following leads. Eventually she was successful and found King Bloodletter, who having escaped the Beholders, had fell pray to Illithids. King Bloodletter was frail and ill, a mere shadow of his former robust self.

After much discourse, it was decided that the King was too ill to reign, and so High Sonnlinor Hera Braidstone took up the managing of the affairs of Brogendenstein. As a Regent, serving at King Bloodletter's pleasure, she became distraught over the condition of Brogendenstein. It's treasury was nearly depleted, the Militia inadequate, its Vassal of Guldorand going unmanaged. With a set determination, she began setting things to rights.

During her Regency, she conceived children, fathered by King Bloodletter. Once they were born, her attention was divided, and once the affairs of state began to suffer, she appointed Cornee Keglighter to serve as Regent in King Bloodletter's name. She and the recovering King remained in Brogendenstein for a short time, before taking him to his ancestral home in the East, with a promise to return.

Regent Keglighter, continued as Hera Braidstone directed, further building Brogendenstein's treasury, reaching out to old allies and friends, and re-establishing a fair and just setting for Guldorand to flourish once more. Regent Cornee's troubles, were not only upon the island, but abroad. His Clan Thane, recalled him home, for Clan Business, and so he had to depart in a hurry.

A young dwarf name Glemli Ruhn appeared, stepped forward and seized the throne. He proclaimed himself King by royal decree, Usurping King Gorann Bloodletter's throne. The Usurper, quickly showed his true colors. Reneging on previous agreements, he demanded an absurd sum of gold from Brogendenstein's Vassal-state Guldorand. Guldorand, angry with it's mistreatment, has entered a state of revolt. Abbathor clearly had a grasp on the young Usurper's heart, as he sent demands to those who had once been Brogendenstein's friends and allies, and turned them against him. Brogendenstein stood divided, with one portion supporting the Usurper, and others seeking his downfall.

The Usurper became beset upon from various angles, and was soon pulled from the Throne by the majority of the Halls lead by the Herald of Brogendenstein: Doili Troff, and fled a traitors end. Cornee Keglighter, recently returned to the island, retook the Regency. He immediately honored all the previous agreements, and released Brogendenstein's Vassal-State Guldorand. He began to restore tradition to the Halls, and now looks to the East, awaiting the return of King Bloodletter.

The remainder of Cornee's Regency was spent idle, accomplishing little, and soon others coveted the throne again. Yurna Glanbryn saw the opportunity to make herself Queen of the Halls, and tried to seize it. She succeeded, though was cut short by the return of Thane Gorann Bloodletter. She fled the halls, to live in Cordor, fearful of meeting a traitor's end.

The Mayor of Bendir, Amy Silverscales-Dizonne, daughter of Sasha Silverscales-Dizonne, pleaded with Thane Bloodletter for justice to be dealt to all who supported the Usurpers. The Thane requested a year before the Calling of the Stones to decide their fates. Many problems fell onto the Thane's lap, and weighed down his heart heavily. Slowly he ceased to appear, and ceased to address the problems as he receeded into his room, desiring peace and quiet of retirement.

Herald Doili Troff stepped up then, and became Regent of Brogendenstein. He served for a very long while as Regent, and peace was ever on his agenda. He often traveled between the various peoples of the island, a ready smile and a resoluteness that only dwarves have, brokering peace between the many factions. The Halls dwindled when Thane Bloodletter slipped away quietly, where-to none knows, but Regent Troff breathed new life into the Halls.

Always mindful of his Kin, he was slow to make decisions until he was certain of the proper course, then taking it on with a fullness of zeal. With Gorann having given up and abdicated to retire elsewhere, Doili was eventually crowned Thane by High Sonnlinor Broind Keglighter (a dwarf), Priestess Sudoc Silvertear (a gnome), and Blessed Mother Amy Silverscales-Dizonne (a hin). Crowned by a representative of all three races, Thane Troff began to lead Brogendenstein forward once again.
