The Cordorian Chronicle, 42 AR

Justice. Some people say that it isn't there, some say it is, and some say that it is corrupt, or that it is ruled by gods. I have no idea on what you think Justice is, or how to deal with it, and this particular article is just a rather opinion that I believe I'll be talking about, for this first article of mine. I believe that justice can be vigilante, or ordered. I believe that, yes, justice can be corrupted.

An encyclopedia defines justice as: 1. 'the quality of being just; righteousness, equitableness, or moral rightness'. 2. 'the moral principle determining just conduct'. 3. 'the administering of deserved punishment or reward'.

All of these are very true, but are these followed by people all around the world of Toril? No, sadly, and it is usually warped by cultural ideas of decency and morals. Thay, for instance, is considered mostly dislike-able, and corrupt, but they probably don't think so. In some parts of Mulhorand, killing is quite acceptable, even required. People look at guards, or paladins, or those who are considered 'fighters' for their gods, or morals, trying to force them upon others through the blade or fist, and mayhap people look at this as corrupted, or wrong. That may be true in some cases, but not most, I would like to think. There is nothing good about having to use force against another being that, I know, can feel that stinging, bitter feeling called fear.

Sadly, sometimes this use of force is needed, either to protect yourself, or those who cannot protect themselves. It may not be just, in some cases, but it is due to that decent cause to try and help those of your fellows from dangers, from losing their body in the material world, their fortune in the celestial world, their soul in the ethereal world. Sometimes, you must make sure you use force, even when you would much rather use words to accomplish this, to avoid from other people becoming hurt. The death of one to save many, and whatnot.

However, if you agree, or disagree with this article, and want to take the time to write a letter, or come talk to me, Cara Domovoi. I'll be happy to take your opinions, and will try to publish every opinion I get in the next issue of the Chronicle. Please be safe, readers!

Many people do not walk into the Embassy of Amn. I went on-location to the Embassy, for this article, and talked to the inhabitants, and I honestly cannot see why. To explain, let me first explain the history behind the Embassy. Amn established a Trade Pact with Cordor, some years ago (no one really seems to know when), looking forward to enriching trade for both parties. In return for allowing Amn the use of Cordor's ports and warehouses, Amn has sanctioned trade of various Amnish luxuries. You see, Cordor's ports are on the way to Maztica, and it is a sort of resting place for them, before they set off to Maztica. For those who don't know, Amn is a country on the Sword Coast. The country has been praised by Waukeen, *goddess of merchants and riches*(hint, hint), and has established a world-wide trading network, from Faerun to Maztica. They bring civilized trade to all corners of the map, and everything in-between.

Speaking with the wizard at the Embassy, he told us at the Cordorian Chronicles, "Hopefully, as the years progress, we'll be able to elevate Cordor's trading status and provide even better goods in the future." All this is well and good, but... Where are the people that are supposed to be buying these goods? I was there for hours on end, and not one person came in.

Curious, I dug through the Embassy's wares, seeing what they had to offer on what is considered Amnish soil. I was quite appalled. The man selling the goods from Amn was most amiable, and had such a cheerful demeanour, and he sold all sorts of things, such as, but not limited to, healing potions, warding potions, blank scrolls and wands, essences, magic teleportation lenses, books, healing kits, sinfully delicious chocolates, paper, blade orbs, dyes... And *not* *one* *person* had come, for the whole day I was there, and talking to the fine men working on that embassy. I was amazed. I was *surprised*. I couldn't believe that such a useful resource is being ignored. And one would think, with the promise of more goods from this country would have people rushing to the embassy, eager for business.

Just because they do not sell weapons or armor is no reason not to go to this lovely mercantile-- prices are affordable, as far as I can see. Dear readers, I urge you to visit this Embassy, to see its goods, and spend time there-these merchants have families to feed, as well. It is a lovely place, if somewhat simple, and its goods are great for adventuring needs.
