Election Outcomes (48 AR)

For my own records, on this date, the City Coffers have exactly 744,369 gold coins in them. I write this because Kallick has won the election, coming out on top with the most votes. He has done no campaigning, has no platform, is reviled by many within the City for actions that caused his banishment, all of which lead me to believe he has bought his votes. I will not press this issue, I merely wish to bring it to the open.

It would take a large chunk of time out of the Council's schedule to handle this exact incident, I instead plan to go to the roots of such. If Kallick one by mere popular appeal then there is nothing to worry about. If that isn't the case, then there is something deeper to be uncovered - these sort of political moves won't be allowed if they are indeed occuring.

That said, until anything is proved, I hope the people of Cordor respect the outcome of the election. I also would like to put this to reminder - The Council and specific Councilors are still responsible to the law for their actions, perhaps even moreso than the citizens, for they stand as figureheads. If you find any suspicious activity occuring by a member, please inform someone immediately.

I plan to keep Cordor informed of the Council's general motives and actions, as I promised to those I spoke to. I immediately plan to meet up with the other Councilors, d'Saphir and Kallick, so that we can come up with a Council Charter, a document which lays out our general plans as a group over the next year. I also will use this opportunity to remind all those of Cordor (and beyond, really), that I am looking for workers. Now that I am a Councilor, even moreso. I seek craftsmen, gatherers, organizers, and more than I can fairly list. Please leave word at my door in the Lowers (the Lyons' Den) if you are interested even remotely. And on a final word, I look forward to the year ahead, and hope to make it a memorable one. If you have any questions, issues, comments or otherwise, by all means get in touch.
