Citizens, soldiers, squires, knights, priests and initiates of Castle Benwick: know that the rumours you hear upon the streets of Benwick are true. A gateway to the plane of Baator has opened within the confines of the Keep. Yet even now the brave knights do work tirelessly to maintain the breach, fortifications erected. The Last Bastion has been formed- an order of Tormites devoted to nought but that cause.
Benwick is peaceful, yet we must now each remember the fire that burns beneath. We are blessed that a celestial has descended from the heavens to aid in this struggle, he commands the forces of the Bastion and oversees all matters in that part of Benwick that does now sit within the Hells. Do not fear, and hold your faith true. The hearts of us all are with each citizen and resident at this time, and the knights and soldiers of Benwick shall not fail in offering protection.
The breach must be protected, not only from the devils that wish out into our world, but also from those of evil purpose; Devil worshipers seeking to commune with their masters, and Abyssalists wishing to continue the interminable Blood Wars between the Planes. Therefore much as we need heroes to come to the aid of the Bastion due discretion must be shown when allowing entry. Captain Alejandro will therefore judge visitors according to their merit and if he approves shall grant papers of entry. Any soldier ranked sergeant or above may also grant access, as can members of the chapel. All are asked to show keen judgement when faced with this decision. If we are reckless in this then we will not protect against the threat but compound it. An updated list of exile orders for Benwick lands shall therefore duly be put before the Council for approval.
Additionally, a goblin has been caught within the Bastion doing battle with our soldiers. Coupled with recent drow sightings we now fear the forces of the Underdark have themselves found a way to exploit the opening. The goblin remains were placed atop a pyre, yet it is almost certain that we shall soon see more. Companies of Benwick's forces shall be formed to extend our efforts greater into that hellish unknown. The details of this shall be dictated by Commander Strata. All knights who have previously been doing Benwick's work elsewhere upon the isle are hereby called back to aid in the defense of the Bastion & an Emergency Parliament of Benwick shall soon be called upon to convene.
