The Second Elder Council of Bendir - The Elders

To all hin and gnomes who applied with the best interests of Bendir in mind, you have the gratitude of all the Dale of Bendir and its people. With this announcement I shall resign my position as Mayor and Councillor and allow a new generation of wise Earthkin to replace me. The following are those who shall seat the Elder Council, good luck and my personal best wishes.

• Francisca Highhill - For years of dedication to the Cause of Bendir and my own personal experience of your leadership potential. You CAN be stubborn, and it will aid Bendir in many of its diplomatic woes in the worst of times. You are familiar with the laws and the Dale itself, and you are possibly the most logical choice for the Council of Elders.
• Refestus Fizzlebiscuits - A hin of great zeal and faith. Though many do not agree with you or see eye-to-eye, it has been the opinion of the citizenry for some time that members of the Fizzlebiscuit ancestry should become more involved in the Dale. You are this candidate. Your forward, yet sometimes misguided, views shall surely be a thing of importance at the Council.
• Zook - Plenty reports have reached me, along with my own observations, that you have become very involved in the Dale after just recently becoming a citizen. Your dedication is admirable and shall continue to be so as a Council Elder. Secondly, it has been some time since such a respectable gnome has passed through these parts that we long for a new generation, good luck to you.

For those of you that wonder, the interviews did, in fact, take place, just not in the traditional or expected sense. My decisions were based on word of mouth and personal observations of all the candidates, and those chosen were the most dedicated and the most involved. Three Elders have been chosen in proportion to the currently deflated population of Bendir; it is now the responsibility of the Elder Council to respect and apply the wishes of the populace in their best interests and to assign new Elders and more Elders as they are needed by the times. I shall relieve the coffers unto the Elders until they may appoint a trustworthy Treasurer amongst themselves, but I shall sustain control of the barracks until the Second Council agrees on another who is willing to act responsibly with the job. A patriot is needed here. Remember to represent Bendir in all things you do, making friends and enemies where they are called for.

I, Regrin Highhill, hereby formally resign my position as the last of the Elder Council. As my last act, I appoint a new generation, the Second Council, to lead Bendir into a new age of prosperity. I go with more than ten years as your Mayor behind me, and I shall enjoy watching the new Council as it grows into something greater than I could have designed it for. With best wishes...
